Reggae Showdown Volume 4: Shabba Ranks DVD

Reggae Showdown Volume 4: Shabba Ranks

This DVD features Shabba Ranks in concert from a 1990
concert in which he performs hit after hit in his typical
energetic and colorful style, accompanied by the silky voice
od duet partner Krystal. Before his staggering performance,
the crowd is heated up by a host of top artists such as
Junior Demus, Papa San, Ninja Man, Professor Nuts, Admiral
Tibet and mamy more.
During his heyday, Shabba Ranks was arguably the most
popular dancehall toaster in the world. He was a massive
crossover success in U.S., thanks to an openly commercial
hybrid of reggae and hip-hop, and also to prominent duet
partners like Maxi Priest, Johnny Gill, and KRS-One. Ranks'
distinctive, booming growl of a voice earned him many
imitators, and his ex-obsessed lyrics - while drawing
criticism for their unrelenting "slackness" made him one of
dancehall's hottest sex symbols.

TRACK LISTING

1 BIGGER BOSS - SAGGITARIOUS

2 A NEED WORK - MR.PANTS

3 SKIN IT IN - MR.PANTS

4 ONE HOUSE A GIRL - MR.PANTS

5 GIRL YOU GOT WHAT I NEED - HONOURABLE APACHE

6 A WANT SOMEBODY TO LOVE ME - HONOURABLE APACHE

7 ROOM FOR ME - U U MADU

8 NOTHING AT ALL -U U MADU

9 TENNAGE IN LOVE - U U MADU

10 ME NUH RESPOND - JR.
Vintage Reggae Bash DVD - Brooklyn 1983

Vintage Reggae Bash DVD - Brooklyn 1983

This DVD consists of footage from an incredible Reggae festival held at the historical Empire Roller Skating Center in Brooklyn, NY circa 1983. It includes sets from such legendary artists as Big Youth, Leroy Sibbles, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson, Tinga Stewart, Roman Stewart, The Blues Busters - Lloyd Campbell and Phillip James, and Max Romeo. The 30,000-square-foot venue, a go-to spot for skate-world renegades in the early 70s, was a de facto community center where teenagers came after school and families spent the weekend. It was the perfect place to host such a historically important music event such as this.

Track Listing/Features:

Dread Ina Babylon - Greenbay Killing Intro

Big Youth - Hit The Road Jack

Big Youth - Ten Against One

Big Youth - Dreadlocks Dread

Big Youth - Every Nigger Is A Star

Big Youth - I Pray Thee

Leroy Sibbles - Rock & Come In

Leroy Sibbles - Sweet Talking

Leroy Sibbles - Love You So

Leroy Sibbles - Party Time

Blues Busters - Phillip James & Lloyd Campbell - Behold

Blues Busters - Phillip James & Lloyd Campbell - Girl

Delroy Wilson - Dancing Mood

Delroy Wilson - Delroy Intro

Ken Boothe - Everything I Own

Ken Boothe - Don't Want To Say Goodbye

Ken Boothe - Freedom Street

Roman Stewart - Gambling

Tinga Stewart - Lick Shot Medley

Max Romeo - Peace & War Ina Babylon

Max Romeo - Getting Through To You

Dread Ina Babylon - Encore S 90 Skank

Big Youth - Jim Squeetchy

Blues Busters - Phillip James & Lloyd Campbell - Give A Little More

Delroy Wilson - Conquer Me

Ken Boothe - Moving Away

Dread Ina Babylon - Mindblowing Decision

Musical Youth - This Generation: Live in the UK DVD

Reggae legends in concert performing their hits "Pass the Dutchie," "Never Gonna Give You Up" and many more.

Description:

Musical Youth formed in 1979 at Duddeston Manor School, Birmingham, England. This pop/reggae influenced group, featured two sets of brothers, Kelvin and Michael Grant, plus Junior and Patrick Waite. Their massive 1982 hit "Pass The Dutchie" was the first of their songs to capture the public's imagination. What he least expected was
establishing an event that would play an integal role in the
history of Jamaica's music. This event would become known as
"STING - The Greatest One Night Reggae Show On Earth", a
launching pad for many of Jamaica's pupular entertainers. In
its history, STING has had over 500 local artists, some of
whom have become extremely successful, not only on the local
scene, but internationally as well.

TRACK LISTING

1 ME WANT A LONG JOHN - SPICE

2 HEAD UNDA MI - SPICE

3 BADDER THAN THEN - VYBES KARTEL

4 WHEN ME BUS NINE - VYBES KARTEL

5 GAGANIE - VYBES KARTEL

6 BIG MAN A BIG MAN - VYBES KARTEL

7 NEW MILLENIUM - VYBES KARTEL

8 WHY YOU DOING IT - VYBES KARTEL

9 NEW GENERATION - VYBES KARTEL

10 GET YOU SELF A GUN - BEENIE MAN

11 TIVOLI MAN - BEENIE MAN

12 BAD MAN NUH TEL BACK CHAT - BEENIE MAN

13 WE DON GOT WE THINGS - BEENIE MAN

14 FROM ME MOTHER FAMILY - BEENIE MAN

15 IF YOU LIKE IT I WILL WORK IT

16 SHE DON'T REALLY NEED A BOY FRIEND

17 PEOPLE A SUFFER - BEENIE MAN

18 NO GAL - BEENIE MAN

19 GAL YOU LOOG GOOD - BUJU BANTON

20 STAMINA DADDAY - BUJU BANTON

21 DESTINY - BUJU BANTON

22 WHE DEM GRODGE YOU FOR - BUJU BANTON

23 TELL ME NUH HOW MASA GOD WORLD A RUN - BUJU BANTON

24 YOU RULE - BUJU BANTON

25 BATTY RIDER - BUJU BANTON

26 DICKY DICKY - BUJU BANTON

27 WILLY - BUJU BANTON

28 DEPORTEE - BUJU BANTON

29 BURNING NOW - CAPLETON

30 I WILL NEVER STOP - CAPLETON

31 DEM A BADMAN - CAPLETON

32 CAN'T SLEEP A RIGHT - CAPLETON

33 HEADEN REIGN - CAPLETON

34 WOMAN ME LOTION - CAPLETON

35 STAY FAR FROM TROUBLE - CAPLETON

36 PRAISE HE JAH - SIZZLA

37 GUARD OVER US - SIZZLA

38 BEAUTIFUL WORLD - SIZZLA

39 ALL DAYS OF MY LIFE -SIZZLA

40 SMOKE THE HERB - SIZZLA

41 WE TAKING OVER - SIZZLA

42 YOU NUH HEAR WHAT - ANTHONY B

43 GOOD COP BAD COP - ANTHONY B

44 LIAD PASTER - ANTHONY B

45 FIRE PON ROME - ANTHONY B

46 ROCK IT TO THE LEFT - ANTHONY B

47 WATCH IT WHAT YOU SAY AND WHAT YOU DO - WAYNE MARSHALL

48 GIME A LIGHT - WAYNE MARSHALL

49 WE PARTY - WAYNE MARSHALL

50 RING DING - WAYNE MARSHALL

51 PERLILIOUS TIME - WAYNE MARSHALL

52 MUSIC PUMPING - WAYNE MARSHALL

53 SQUASHING IT - WAYNE MARSHALL

54 DANCEHALL MUSIC FLOW - WAYNE MARSHALL

55 OVERCOME - WAYNE MARSHALL

56 LEGALIZE IT - WAYNE MARSHALL

57 JOY TO THE WORLD - ELEPHANT MAN

58 WANT TO WAR - ELEPHANT MAN

59 BRING YOU P..
Death Before Dishonor 5 - World Clash Jamaica Part 1 DVD

IMPORTED FROM THE U.K. - OUT OF PRINT

Death Before Dishonor 5 - World Clash Jamaica Part 1 DVD

Jamaica's Biggest World Clash featuring Black Kat, Bass Odyssey, Mighty Crown, Tony Matterhorn, One Love and Freddy . Part 1 of 2

Irish and Chin’s World Clash series of events has emerged as the dancehall industry’s most widely recognized and respected productions each year. World Clash, a stellar competition among leading sound systems and selectors, is held annually in countries including Jamaica, United States, Canada, Antigua and the United Kingdom. Among dancehall fans, sound systems and selectors, World Clash is clearly the Olympic competition of them all.

When Irish and Chin, Inc. started World Clash in 1998, they were unaware that their event originally designed to revitalize New York’s sound clash market, would evolve into a world-wide phenomenon. In 1998, Irish and Chin, Inc. brought together the best sound systems to compete in an organized manner. With the implementation of rules, time limits and rounds, the art of sound clashing quickly became recognized as a sport. Now, thousands of tourists, fans and media flock to New York annually to experience the legendary World Clash U.S.

The popularity of World Clash in the U.S. served as a catalyst for the creation of World Clash Jamaica in 2001. This stellar competition, which has its’ roots in Trelawney, Jamaica, is single-handedly responsible for rebuilding Jamaica’s sound clash industry, the backbone of Dancehall culture and moreover, Jamaican music. From early on, Irish and Chin, Inc. brought in heavy-hitting sound systems and selectors to top off the World Clash Jamaica line-up on Easter Monday. Due to well-rounded line-ups, Irish and Chin, has mastered attracting multi-generations of sound clash fans to the annual event. World Clash Jamaica is entering its sixth year -- 35,000 sound clash fans later.

World Clash Jamaica is inevitably Jamaica’s flagship sound clash event, as it is the only international sound clash of such magnitude on Jamaican soil. The event, now held in Pier 1, is annually attended by nearly 10,000 people including tourists, fans, media and artists. The event, as with others in the World Clash series, receives world-wide media attention and coverage. In 2004, the event achieved another milestone, sponsorship of corporate entities Puma and VP Records. Subsequently, their sponsorship role enabled that year’s winner, Black Kat, to accompany Jamaica’s Olympic team to Greece.

For World Clash, Europe was the next stop, the United Kingdom to be exact. In conjunction with one of England’s top dancehall promoters, Irish and Chin, Inc. endorse and sponsor the U.K. Cup Clash each year. Backed by BBC Radio, the U.K. Cup Clash is Europe’s largest and most-well attended sound clash to date.

In 2005, Irish and Chin, Inc. was once again in search of markets to add to the World Clash series. After surveying the world’s clash market, Irish and Chin, Inc. identified Canada and Antigua as new locations for the phenomenal World Clash. Both events, which took place in July 2005, attracted thousands of people. Following in the World Clash legacy, these stellar sound clashes received the attention of sound clash fans throughout the world. While Antigua’s clash was staged in the countryside, World Clash Canada took place in downtown Toronto, a first for an event of this nature.

World Clash is not only branded as a leading sound system competition -- the event is also marketed and distributed on DVD and CD each year. While audio of sound clashes have existed for quite some time, it was the release of Irish and Chin’s World Clash Jamaica DVD in 2004, which changed the criteria for sound clash DVD releases. Quality marketing, packaging, camera shots and audio set new standards in the industry. Finally, World Clash is the center of Irish Chin’s annual magazine.

World Clash has opened doors for some of today’s most popular sound systems and selectors. Grooming these competitors as personalities, exposure in Irish and Chin, Inc.’s World Clash series of events has afforded these sounds with opportunities once unimaginable. Ultimately, involvement in the World Clash series of events yields infinite rewards.
