Vintage Reggae Bash DVD - Brooklyn 1983

Vintage Reggae Bash DVD - Brooklyn 1983

This DVD consists of footage from an incredible Reggae festival held at the historical Empire Roller Skating Center in Brooklyn, NY circa 1983. It includes sets from such legendary artists as Big Youth, Leroy Sibbles, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson, Tinga Stewart, Roman Stewart, The Blues Busters - Lloyd Campbell and Phillip James, and Max Romeo. The 30,000-square-foot venue, a go-to spot for skate-world renegades in the early 70s, was a de facto community center where teenagers came after school and families spent the weekend. It was the perfect place to host such a historically important music event such as this.

Track Listing/Features:

Dread Ina Babylon - Greenbay Killing Intro

Big Youth - Hit The Road Jack

Big Youth - Ten Against One

Big Youth - Dreadlocks Dread

Big Youth - Every Nigger Is A Star

Big Youth - I Pray Thee

Leroy Sibbles - Rock & Come In

Leroy Sibbles - Sweet Talking

Leroy Sibbles - Love You So

Leroy Sibbles - Party Time

Blues Busters - Phillip James & Lloyd Campbell - Behold

Blues Busters - Phillip James & Lloyd Campbell - Girl

Delroy Wilson - Dancing Mood

Delroy Wilson - Delroy Intro

Ken Boothe - Everything I Own

Ken Boothe - Don't Want To Say Goodbye

Ken Boothe - Freedom Street

Roman Stewart - Gambling

Tinga Stewart - Lick Shot Medley

Max Romeo - Peace & War Ina Babylon

Max Romeo - Getting Through To You

Dread Ina Babylon - Encore S 90 Skank

Big Youth - Jim Squeetchy

Blues Busters - Phillip James & Lloyd Campbell - Give A Little More

Delroy Wilson - Conquer Me

Ken Boothe - Moving Away

Dread Ina Babylon - Mindblowing Decision

What he least expected was
establishing an event that would play an integal role in the
history of Jamaica's music. This event would become known as
"STING - The Greatest One Night Reggae Show On Earth", a
launching pad for many of Jamaica's pupular entertainers. In
its history, STING has had over 500 local artists, some of
whom have become extremely successful, not only on the local
scene, but internationally as well.

TRACK LISTING

1 ME WANT A LONG JOHN - SPICE

2 HEAD UNDA MI - SPICE

3 BADDER THAN THEN - VYBES KARTEL

4 WHEN ME BUS NINE - VYBES KARTEL

5 GAGANIE - VYBES KARTEL

6 BIG MAN A BIG MAN - VYBES KARTEL

7 NEW MILLENIUM - VYBES KARTEL

8 WHY YOU DOING IT - VYBES KARTEL

9 NEW GENERATION - VYBES KARTEL

10 GET YOU SELF A GUN - BEENIE MAN

11 TIVOLI MAN - BEENIE MAN

12 BAD MAN NUH TEL BACK CHAT - BEENIE MAN

13 WE DON GOT WE THINGS - BEENIE MAN

14 FROM ME MOTHER FAMILY - BEENIE MAN

15 IF YOU LIKE IT I WILL WORK IT

16 SHE DON'T REALLY NEED A BOY FRIEND

17 PEOPLE A SUFFER - BEENIE MAN

18 NO GAL - BEENIE MAN

19 GAL YOU LOOG GOOD - BUJU BANTON

20 STAMINA DADDAY - BUJU BANTON

21 DESTINY - BUJU BANTON

22 WHE DEM GRODGE YOU FOR - BUJU BANTON

23 TELL ME NUH HOW MASA GOD WORLD A RUN - BUJU BANTON

24 YOU RULE - BUJU BANTON

25 BATTY RIDER - BUJU BANTON

26 DICKY DICKY - BUJU BANTON

27 WILLY - BUJU BANTON

28 DEPORTEE - BUJU BANTON

29 BURNING NOW - CAPLETON

30 I WILL NEVER STOP - CAPLETON

31 DEM A BADMAN - CAPLETON

32 CAN'T SLEEP A RIGHT - CAPLETON

33 HEADEN REIGN - CAPLETON

34 WOMAN ME LOTION - CAPLETON

35 STAY FAR FROM TROUBLE - CAPLETON

36 PRAISE HE JAH - SIZZLA

37 GUARD OVER US - SIZZLA

38 BEAUTIFUL WORLD - SIZZLA

39 ALL DAYS OF MY LIFE -SIZZLA

40 SMOKE THE HERB - SIZZLA

41 WE TAKING OVER - SIZZLA

42 YOU NUH HEAR WHAT - ANTHONY B

43 GOOD COP BAD COP - ANTHONY B

44 LIAD PASTER - ANTHONY B

45 FIRE PON ROME - ANTHONY B

46 ROCK IT TO THE LEFT - ANTHONY B

47 WATCH IT WHAT YOU SAY AND WHAT YOU DO - WAYNE MARSHALL

48 GIME A LIGHT - WAYNE MARSHALL

49 WE PARTY - WAYNE MARSHALL

50 RING DING - WAYNE MARSHALL

51 PERLILIOUS TIME - WAYNE MARSHALL

52 MUSIC PUMPING - WAYNE MARSHALL

53 SQUASHING IT - WAYNE MARSHALL

54 DANCEHALL MUSIC FLOW - WAYNE MARSHALL

55 OVERCOME - WAYNE MARSHALL

56 LEGALIZE IT - WAYNE MARSHALL

57 JOY TO THE WORLD - ELEPHANT MAN

58 WANT TO WAR - ELEPHANT MAN

59 BRING YOU P..
Reggae Showdown Volume 4: Shabba Ranks DVD

Reggae Showdown Volume 4: Shabba Ranks

This DVD features Shabba Ranks in concert from a 1990
concert in which he performs hit after hit in his typical
energetic and colorful style, accompanied by the silky voice
od duet partner Krystal. Before his staggering performance,
the crowd is heated up by a host of top artists such as
Junior Demus, Papa San, Ninja Man, Professor Nuts, Admiral
Tibet and mamy more.
During his heyday, Shabba Ranks was arguably the most
popular dancehall toaster in the world. He was a massive
crossover success in U.S., thanks to an openly commercial
hybrid of reggae and hip-hop, and also to prominent duet
partners like Maxi Priest, Johnny Gill, and KRS-One. Ranks'
distinctive, booming growl of a voice earned him many
imitators, and his ex-obsessed lyrics - while drawing
criticism for their unrelenting "slackness" made him one of
dancehall's hottest sex symbols.

TRACK LISTING

1 BIGGER BOSS - SAGGITARIOUS

2 A NEED WORK - MR.PANTS

3 SKIN IT IN - MR.PANTS

4 ONE HOUSE A GIRL - MR.PANTS

5 GIRL YOU GOT WHAT I NEED - HONOURABLE APACHE

6 A WANT SOMEBODY TO LOVE ME - HONOURABLE APACHE

7 ROOM FOR ME - U U MADU

8 NOTHING AT ALL -U U MADU

9 TENNAGE IN LOVE - U U MADU

10 ME NUH RESPOND - JR.
Unforgiven - Reggae Street Wars DVD

Unforgiven - Reggae Street Wars DVD

Featuring: Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Adonia, Ninja Man, Bounty Killa
Twins of Twins, Mavado, Munga and D'angel.

This film takes a look at the most controversial side of the reggae music industry. Find out why, reggae music wars have been around since Prince Busta and Derrick Morgan. Bounty Killa, Mavado, Aidonia, Bizzy Signal, Vybz Karetl, Ninja Man, Twins of Twins, Voice Mail, Munga Honorable, and D'Angel attempt to explain the increase in competition along with the shrinking market share. These issues are what fuel reggae music wars. The artists remind us they too are employees and just like employees, they too must fight to keep their jobs.

The concert was brought to a dramatic and premature end following an on-stage brawl between the often-controversial Ninjaman and Vybz Kartel, who subsequently both made up. With over 4 hours of footage, this set is a must for all true fans of reggae music.

Track Listing/Features:

D.Y.C.R.: Delroy; Judgement Pon A Sucka

JUNIOR KELLY: Black Is My Colour; Smile

NATTY KING: Money; Don't Bring Your Gun To Town

GENTLEMAN: Them Gone So Far Away; Respect The Children; If Jah Nah Watch Over The City

PINCHERS: Hey Gringos And Paseros; Riding West; Hold Me In Your Arms

JUNIOR PINCHERS: I Can Make You Feel Good

PINCHERS: Carpenter Carpenter; Lift It Up Again; Sidung Pon It; This Is A Prayer; They Are Holding Us Down

QUEEN PAULA: Gimme Money Bwoy; Mad Sick Dem No Good

ANTHONY B: Good Cop Bad Cop; Bun A Bow Cat; Nobody Want To Plant The Corn; Thiefing Church Liar Pastor; Mr. Heartless; Fire Pon Rome; Hurt Mi Heart Can't Hurt The Soul; Someone Loves You Honey; Want Back We Cool And Deadly

SANCHEZ: I Lift Up My Hands To The Father; Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone; This Little Girl; I Wanna Tell You How I Feel; Everyday I Love Her A Little Bit More; Let Me Love You Down; Undeniable; Sorry; Ghetto Fabulous; Toot Toot Beep Beep; Never Dis The Man

PREDATOR: Wha Mad Mi; Serious Joke; Da Gal De Head Gone; Careful Who You Carry Pon Works

KIPRICH: That Man; Don't Put A Foot Inna Mi Yard

FRISCO KID: Round Here; Gallop; Tell Me Why Them No Want We Prosper; Juvenile Run Down Town

ASSASSIN: Bus Gun Shot; We Are The Roughest; Can't Lock Off The Dance; Full Up Ina De Dance; Straight; Love Me Always (featuring Nikki Bert); Girl Alone We Care For; Bad Mind; We A Bad From; We Have Gal From; Girls Gone Wild

BLING DAWG: Shotta Thing; Nikki Ann; Popapanda You Name; Tweeta Faneeta

WAYNE MARSHALL: Marshall In Town; Gimme A Light; Why You Keep On Doing It

JAGWA: We Deh Ya Fi Mek You Feel Good

ELEPHANT MAN: Send On The Pussy; Bad Man Don't Bathe Wid Them Woman Rag; Twin Tower Drop Inna We Head; Dancehall Nice Again; Crazy Hype; Pon The River Pon The Bank; Do Them (with Eastside Boys); Haters Wanna War; Anaconda; Wine Like A Gypsy; We Are The Wo

VYBZ KARTEL: Squeeze Up The Breast; When Gal Want Buddy; First Thing We Do When We Wake; Jersey; Me A Real Bad Man

     NINJA MAN: (interrupted performance)

BEENIE MAN: From You Bun Batty Man; Real Bad Man No Ramp With Punany; Cut And Go Through; Bad Man Chi Chi Man.

Bonus Materials:

THE PRESS - Local reviews of the Festival from the Jamaican press as well as coverage of the brawl between Ninjaman and Vybz Kartel and other unplanned and unfortunate incidents which made the headlines.
BEHIND THE SCENES - A film of the day's events off-stage f/ interviews, spontaneous a capella performances, and more.

Death Before Dishonor 5 - World Clash Jamaica Part 1 DVD

IMPORTED FROM THE U.K. - OUT OF PRINT

Death Before Dishonor 5 - World Clash Jamaica Part 1 DVD

Jamaica's Biggest World Clash featuring Black Kat, Bass Odyssey, Mighty Crown, Tony Matterhorn, One Love and Freddy . Part 1 of 2

Irish and Chin’s World Clash series of events has emerged as the dancehall industry’s most widely recognized and respected productions each year. World Clash, a stellar competition among leading sound systems and selectors, is held annually in countries including Jamaica, United States, Canada, Antigua and the United Kingdom. Among dancehall fans, sound systems and selectors, World Clash is clearly the Olympic competition of them all.

When Irish and Chin, Inc. started World Clash in 1998, they were unaware that their event originally designed to revitalize New York’s sound clash market, would evolve into a world-wide phenomenon. In 1998, Irish and Chin, Inc. brought together the best sound systems to compete in an organized manner. With the implementation of rules, time limits and rounds, the art of sound clashing quickly became recognized as a sport. Now, thousands of tourists, fans and media flock to New York annually to experience the legendary World Clash U.S.

The popularity of World Clash in the U.S. served as a catalyst for the creation of World Clash Jamaica in 2001. This stellar competition, which has its’ roots in Trelawney, Jamaica, is single-handedly responsible for rebuilding Jamaica’s sound clash industry, the backbone of Dancehall culture and moreover, Jamaican music. From early on, Irish and Chin, Inc. brought in heavy-hitting sound systems and selectors to top off the World Clash Jamaica line-up on Easter Monday. Due to well-rounded line-ups, Irish and Chin, has mastered attracting multi-generations of sound clash fans to the annual event. World Clash Jamaica is entering its sixth year -- 35,000 sound clash fans later.

World Clash Jamaica is inevitably Jamaica’s flagship sound clash event, as it is the only international sound clash of such magnitude on Jamaican soil. The event, now held in Pier 1, is annually attended by nearly 10,000 people including tourists, fans, media and artists. The event, as with others in the World Clash series, receives world-wide media attention and coverage. In 2004, the event achieved another milestone, sponsorship of corporate entities Puma and VP Records. Subsequently, their sponsorship role enabled that year’s winner, Black Kat, to accompany Jamaica’s Olympic team to Greece.

For World Clash, Europe was the next stop, the United Kingdom to be exact. In conjunction with one of England’s top dancehall promoters, Irish and Chin, Inc. endorse and sponsor the U.K. Cup Clash each year. Backed by BBC Radio, the U.K. Cup Clash is Europe’s largest and most-well attended sound clash to date.

In 2005, Irish and Chin, Inc. was once again in search of markets to add to the World Clash series. After surveying the world’s clash market, Irish and Chin, Inc. identified Canada and Antigua as new locations for the phenomenal World Clash. Both events, which took place in July 2005, attracted thousands of people. Following in the World Clash legacy, these stellar sound clashes received the attention of sound clash fans throughout the world. While Antigua’s clash was staged in the countryside, World Clash Canada took place in downtown Toronto, a first for an event of this nature.

World Clash is not only branded as a leading sound system competition -- the event is also marketed and distributed on DVD and CD each year. While audio of sound clashes have existed for quite some time, it was the release of Irish and Chin’s World Clash Jamaica DVD in 2004, which changed the criteria for sound clash DVD releases. Quality marketing, packaging, camera shots and audio set new standards in the industry. Finally, World Clash is the center of Irish Chin’s annual magazine.

World Clash has opened doors for some of today’s most popular sound systems and selectors. Grooming these competitors as personalities, exposure in Irish and Chin, Inc.’s World Clash series of events has afforded these sounds with opportunities once unimaginable. Ultimately, involvement in the World Clash series of events yields infinite rewards.

Follow Di Arrow DVD Part 2

The force of 'Magnum Follow Di Arrow' will hit James Bond Beach on Saturday, March 1, bringing a tradition of collaborating for the development of authentic Jamaican culture to its 2008 climax. bounty_250Boasting the best line-up in its eight year history, the Magnum Tonic Wine endorsed annual show will deliver on its commitment to provide quality, top class entertainment to the masses.

A barrage of veterans and current hit-makers are billed for 2008, with The Alliance Crew as headlining acts. Headed by Grung Gad Bounty Killer, Alliance will undoubtedly bright up the night as the Killer will be supported by: Mr. Gully Side – Mavado, Wayne Marshall, Busy Signal, Bling Dawg and Bad Boy recording artist Elephant Man. The show will also feature Assassin who is riding high with the recent release of his "Gully Sittin" Album, Ninja Man, Mr Vegas, Bugle, Warrior King, Macka Diamond, Anthony B and the ever tempting Lady Saw.

By the time Mavado, Bounty Killa and Ninja Man exited the stage at about 6 am, Magnum Follow Di Arrow 2008 had already gone down in dancehall history as one of the best shows ever to grace the shores of Jamaica's north coast.

Magnum Follow Di Arrow 2008, hailed as the best dancehall show since the start of the year, presented itself as a good example of how entertainers and patrons can have a good time. The event was well attended and even attracted a large throng of tourists from Asia, Europe and America. The Bashment Squad was the first sound to take the stage as patrons were streaming in droves allaying fears by some that the early morning showers might put a damper on the event. Magnum Follow Di Arrow on Saturday March 1, 2008, went off without a hitch and patrons indeed received their monies worth.

Magnum Tonic wine has for the last nine years sought to bring quality dancehall entertainment of the highest standard to Jamaica. Magnum Follow Di Arrow, based on the crowd response and the standard of performances, is fast becoming one of the flagship events sponsored by the brand. Magnum Tonic Wine ensured that all the checks and balances were in place; the stage production, site management and overall ambience of the event were of a superb quality.

"Every bottle of Magnum Tonic Wine is produced to the highest standard, based on this fact it is natural that whatever we are involved in manifests that same characteristic," says Gary Dixon Brand Manager Magnum Tonic Wine, "We see the successful staging of 'Magnum Follow Di Arrow' as further reinforcement of the commitment Magnum has to the development of Jamaican culture. We are happy that so many patrons and members of the industry came out to support the event and guarantee that next year will be bigger and better."

Patrons at Magnum Follow DI Arrow were treated to numerous stellar performances from the likes of Macka Diamond, who graced the stage clutching a fresh bottle of Magnum Tonic Wine, Assassin, Lady Saw, Wayne Marshall and Mega Banton to name a few. There were several highlights on the show, these included the amazing Magnum girls who at one point corralled Professor Nuts during one of his more notable performances.

There were also commendable appearances from 'The Man From Mars' Tony Matterhorn, Little Hero, Bugle & Serani and Elephant man who climbed atop both speakers on the stage before commandeering and voluptuous young lady from the audience. Chuck Fender and Anthony B also showed why they continue to be staples on the dancehall scene with Chuck Fender dominating his set and Anthony B returning to the stage three times due to pleas of encore from the massive audience. Magnum Follow Di Arrow was a culmination of months of planning and rehearsals, all of which was organised by the promoter Dexton Ennis who had high praises for those who helped to make the event a success.

"We put in a lot of preparation into this event; from rehearsals to preparing of the venue. I would like to commend the artistes for what can be considered some of the best performances to ever grace the James Bond Beach stage," Dexton Ennis Promoter, Magnum Follow Di Arrow observed, "The production was of a high quality and Magnum Tonic wine delivered by providing the energy and the motivation we needed to make Magnum follow Di Arrow St Mary's premiere dancehall show."

The conclusion of Magnum Follow Di Arrow 2008 was a pleasant surprise to many. Bounty Killa, the father of the Alliance came on stage at about 5 am belting out some of his huge hit tunes to the joy and pleasure of the audience. Bounty, in his militant best manifested the style and dexterity he is known for. It was in the middle of his set that the daddy called on the son and the Magnum fuelled crowd erupted with joy. Mavado was amazing and showed why he is now on top of the dancehall world, overpowering the venue with his recent hits from Deh Yah Pon the Gully Side to Life of a Gangsta on the Shootout Riddim.

It was at this point that Bounty Killa and Mavado surprised the massive audience by calling on the Don Gorgon who cruised onto the stage in his signature style this time sporting a large umbrella. Mavado and Ninja man then went on to satisfy the crown with a friendly tune for tune segment with Bounty Killa interjecting periodically. The three dancehall kingpins on the stage at the same time was a surprise the crowd never expected and many patrons went home satisfied with the dancehall tet-a-tet.
