This DVD consists of footage from an incredible Reggae festival held at the historical Empire Roller Skating Center in Brooklyn, NY circa 1983. It includes sets from such legendary artists as Big Youth, Leroy Sibbles, Ken Boothe, Delroy Wilson, Tinga Stewart, Roman Stewart, The Blues Busters - Lloyd Campbell and Phillip James, and Max Romeo. The 30,000-square-foot venue, a go-to spot for skate-world renegades in the early 70s, was a de facto community center where teenagers came after school and families spent the weekend. It was the perfect place to host such a historically important music event such as this.

During his heyday, Shabba Ranks was arguably the most
popular dancehall toaster in the world. He was a massive
crossover success in U.S., thanks to an openly commercial
hybrid of reggae and hip-hop, and also to prominent duet
partners like Maxi Priest, Johnny Gill, and KRS-One. Ranks'
distinctive, booming growl of a voice earned him many
imitators, and his ex-obsessed lyrics - while drawing
criticism for their unrelenting "slackness" made him one of
dancehall's hottest sex symbols.

Since it started back in 1984, Jamaica's Sting Festival, "The Greatest One-Night Reggae Show on Earth", has established itself as the island's premier one-night reggae show. Held each year in Portmore, Sting is renowned as being a showcase for the best reggae acts, primarily dancehall, which Jamaica has to offer. Its performers invariably rise to the occasion and it has witnessed many memorable performances over the years. This 2-disc DVD set recorded live in Portmore, St. Catherine, Jamaica on December 27, 2003 features vital reggae acts like Gentleman, Elephant Man, Beenie Man, Vybz Kartel, Junior Kelly, and tons more. The concert was brought to a dramatic and premature end following an on-stage brawl between the often-controversial Ninjaman and Vybz Kartel, who subsequently both made up. Irish and Chin�s World Clash series of events has emerged as the dancehall industry�s most widely recognized and respected productions each year. World Clash, a stellar competition among leading sound systems and selectors, is held annually in countries including Jamaica, United States, Canada, Antigua and the United Kingdom. Among dancehall fans, sound systems and selectors, World Clash is clearly the Olympic competition of them all.

When Irish and Chin, Inc. started World Clash in 1998, they were unaware that their event originally designed to revitalize New York�s sound clash market, would evolve into a world-wide phenomenon. In 1998, Irish and Chin, Inc. brought together the best sound systems to compete in an organized manner. With the implementation of rules, time limits and rounds, the art of sound clashing quickly became recognized as a sport. Now, thousands of tourists, fans and media flock to New York annually to experience the legendary World Clash U.S.

The popularity of World Clash in the U.S. served as a catalyst for the creation of World Clash Jamaica in 2001. This stellar competition, which has its� roots in Trelawney, Jamaica, is single-handedly responsible for rebuilding Jamaica�s sound clash industry, the backbone of Dancehall culture and moreover, Jamaican music. From early on, Irish and Chin, Inc. brought in heavy-hitting sound systems and selectors to top off the World Clash Jamaica line-up on Easter Monday. Due to well-rounded line-ups, Irish and Chin, has mastered attracting multi-generations of sound clash fans to the annual event. World Clash Jamaica is entering its sixth year -- 35,000 sound clash fans later.

World Clash Jamaica is inevitably Jamaica�s flagship sound clash event, as it is the only international sound clash of such magnitude on Jamaican soil. The event, now held in Pier 1, is annually attended by nearly 10,000 people including tourists, fans, media and artists. The event, as with others in the World Clash series, receives world-wide media attention and coverage. In 2004, the event achieved another milestone, sponsorship of corporate entities Puma and VP Records. Subsequently, their sponsorship role enabled that year�s winner, Black Kat, to accompany Jamaica�s Olympic team to Greece.

For World Clash, Europe was the next stop, the United Kingdom to be exact. In conjunction with one of England�s top dancehall promoters, Irish and Chin, Inc. endorse and sponsor the U.K. Cup Clash each year. Backed by BBC Radio, the U.K. Cup Clash is Europe�s largest and most-well attended sound clash to date.

In 2005, Irish and Chin, Inc. was once again in search of markets to add to the World Clash series. After surveying the world�s clash market, Irish and Chin, Inc. identified Canada and Antigua as new locations for the phenomenal World Clash. Both events, which took place in July 2005, attracted thousands of people. Following in the World Clash legacy, these stellar sound clashes received the attention of sound clash fans throughout the world. While Antigua�s clash was staged in the countryside, World Clash Canada took place in downtown Toronto, a first for an event of this nature.

World Clash is not only branded as a leading sound system competition -- the event is also marketed and distributed on DVD and CD each year. While audio of sound clashes have existed for quite some time, it was the release of Irish and Chin�s World Clash Jamaica DVD in 2004, which changed the criteria for sound clash DVD releases. Quality marketing, packaging, camera shots and audio set new standards in the industry. Finally, World Clash is the center of Irish Chin�s annual magazine.

World Clash has opened doors for some of today�s most popular sound systems and selectors. On Friday 28th March 1993 History was made when world Promotion & Bagga John's Surespin
Promotion presented the 1st ever World Sound Cup Clash. The clash featured four of the roughest
sounds in the world all battling for the coveted World Sound Clash Cup.

This featured from England and the UK cup holder, SAXON, also the people championship
SIR COXSONE, from NY America's number one, AFRIQUE. And from Jamaica
the 1992 cup winner BODY GUARD.

This event saw the largest ever turn out in the UIK ever for a Dancehall Sound System.

The force of 'Magnum Follow Di Arrow' will hit James Bond Beach on Saturday, March 1, bringing a tradition of collaborating for the development of authentic Jamaican culture to its 2008 climax. bounty_250Boasting the best line-up in its eight year history, the Magnum Tonic Wine endorsed annual show will deliver on its commitment to provide quality, top class entertainment to the masses.

A barrage of veterans and current hit-makers are billed for 2008, with The Alliance Crew as headlining acts. Headed by Grung Gad Bounty Killer, Alliance will undoubtedly bright up the night as the Killer will be supported by: Mr. Gully Side � Mavado, Wayne Marshall, Busy Signal, Bling Dawg and Bad Boy recording artist Elephant Man. The show will also feature Assassin who is riding high with the recent release of his "Gully Sittin" Album, Ninja Man, Mr Vegas, Bugle, Warrior King, Macka Diamond, Anthony B and the ever tempting Lady Saw.

By the time Mavado, Bounty Killa and Ninja Man exited the stage at about 6 am, Magnum Follow Di Arrow 2008 had already gone down in dancehall history as one of the best shows ever to grace the shores of Jamaica's north coast.

Magnum Follow Di Arrow 2008, hailed as the best dancehall show since the start of the year, presented itself as a good example of how entertainers and patrons can have a good time. The event was well attended and even attracted a large throng of tourists from Asia, Europe and America. The Bashment Squad was the first sound to take the stage as patrons were streaming in droves allaying fears by some that the early morning showers might put a damper on the event. Magnum Follow Di Arrow on Saturday March 1, 2008, went off without a hitch and patrons indeed received their monies worth.

Magnum Tonic wine has for the last nine years sought to bring quality dancehall entertainment of the highest standard to Jamaica. Magnum Follow Di Arrow, based on the crowd response and the standard of performances, is fast becoming one of the flagship events sponsored by the brand. Magnum Tonic Wine ensured that all the checks and balances were in place; the stage production, site management and overall ambience of the event were of a superb quality.

"Every bottle of Magnum Tonic Wine is produced to the highest standard, based on this fact it is natural that whatever we are involved in manifests that same characteristic," says Gary Dixon Brand Manager Magnum Tonic Wine, "We see the successful staging of 'Magnum Follow Di Arrow' as further reinforcement of the commitment Magnum has to the development of Jamaican culture. We are happy that so many patrons and members of the industry came out to support the event and guarantee that next year will be bigger and better."

Patrons at Magnum Follow DI Arrow were treated to numerous stellar performances from the likes of Macka Diamond, who graced the stage clutching a fresh bottle of Magnum Tonic Wine, Assassin, Lady Saw, Wayne Marshall and Mega Banton to name a few. There were several highlights on the show, these included the amazing Magnum girls who at one point corralled Professor Nuts during one of his more notable performances.

There were also commendable appearances from 'The Man From Mars' Tony Matterhorn, Little Hero, Bugle & Serani and Elephant man who climbed atop both speakers on the stage before commandeering and voluptuous young lady from the audience. Chuck Fender and Anthony B also showed why they continue to be staples on the dancehall scene with Chuck Fender dominating his set and Anthony B returning to the stage three times due to pleas of encore from the massive audience. Magnum Follow Di Arrow was a culmination of months of planning and rehearsals, all of which was organised by the promoter Dexton Ennis who had high praises for those who helped to make the event a success.

"We put in a lot of preparation into this event; from rehearsals to preparing of the venue. I would like to commend the artistes for what can be considered some of the best performances to ever grace the James Bond Beach stage," Dexton Ennis Promoter, Magnum Follow Di Arrow observed, "The production was of a high quality and Magnum Tonic wine delivered by providing the energy and the motivation we needed to make Magnum follow Di Arrow St Mary's premiere dancehall show."

The conclusion of Magnum Follow Di Arrow 2008 was a pleasant surprise to many. Bounty Killa, the father of the Alliance came on stage at about 5 am belting out some of his huge hit tunes to the joy and pleasure of the audience. Bounty, in his militant best manifested the style and dexterity he is known for. It was in the middle of his set that the daddy called on the son and the Magnum fuelled crowd erupted with joy. Mavado was amazing and showed why he is now on top of the dancehall world, overpowering the venue with his recent hits from Deh Yah Pon the Gully Side to Life of a Gangsta on the Shootout Riddim.

It was at this point that Bounty Killa and Mavado surprised the massive audience by calling on the Don Gorgon who cruised onto the stage in his signature style this time sporting a large umbrella. Mavado and Ninja man then went on to satisfy the crown with a friendly tune for tune segment with Bounty Killa interjecting periodically. The three dancehall kingpins on the stage at the same time was a surprise the crowd never expected and many patrons went home satisfied with the dancehall tet-a-tet.

Bounty Killa, the father of the Alliance came on stage at about 5 am belting out some of his huge hit tunes to the joy and pleasure of the audience. Bounty, in his militant best manifested the style and dexterity he is known for. It was in the middle of his set that the daddy called on the son and the Magnum fuelled crowd erupted with joy. Mavado was amazing and showed why he is now on top of the dancehall world, overpowering the venue with his recent hits from Deh Yah Pon the Gully Side to Life of a Gangsta on the Shootout Riddim.

It was at this point that Bounty Killa and Mavado surprised the massive audience by calling on the Don Gorgon who cruised onto the stage in his signature style this time sporting a large umbrella. Mavado and Ninja man then went on to satisfy the crown with a friendly tune for tune segment with Bounty Killa interjecting periodically. The three dancehall kingpins on the stage at the same time was a surprise the crowd never expected and many patrons went home satisfied with the dancehall tet-a-tet.
